Mikki Moore to receive his big chance

Blogged under Steppin Up, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Friday 29 December 2006 at 10:44 pm

Nobody thought much when the Nets sent a second round draft pick to Seattle for veteran bench player Mikki Moore.  Moore was only expected to play about 10 minutes a game for the Nets.  Well, when Nenad Krstic seriously injured himself Moore was seen in a different light.  The Nets shifted Jason Collins back to center and placed Mikki Moore in the starting line-up.  This is his big chance to prove what kind of player he is.  Moore has averaged 17.3 minutes, 5.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and 0.4 assists so far this season.  Those numbers to take an upwards spike as he gets more playing time.  Moore is hitting 64.2% of his shots from the floor and 75% from the line.

Nets pathetic in 96-71 home loss to Rockets

The Rockets were without Yao and still out-rebounded the Nets 54-32 in this beat-down.  Hassan Adams led the Nets in scoring with 13 points off the bench.  Vince Carter had a horrendous night shooting (4 of 16) and wound up with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists.  Bostjan Nachbar had a decent night off the bench with 12 points and 5 rebounds.  Richard Jefferson pitched in with 11 points.  Jason Kidd played hard with 11 points, 5 assists and 6 steals.

The Nets fell to 11-18 after this awful home loss.

Nets play tough but fall 92-91 to the Pistons

The Nets played as hard as they could last night and just came up a tad short.  Vince Carter didn’t shoot well (6 of 17) but he wound up with 28 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists.  Richard Jefferson had a solid game with 18 points and 4 rebounds.  Jason Collins had a decent game with 14 points and 4 rebounds.  Jason Kidd only shot 5 of 14 from the floor but wound up with 13 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists.  Rookie Josh Boone played 30 minutes and wound up with 6 points and 12 rebounds.

The Nets fell to 11-17 on the season with this loss.

Nets forget to play defense in 115-104 loss to Bucks

The Nets played well on offense, but it’s hard to win when you allow your opponent to hit 55.1% of their shots from the floor.  Eddie House got his first start of the season for the Nets and he filled up the boxscore.  House scored 22 points, grabbed 5 rebounds, dished out 4 assists and stole the ball 3 times.  Jason Kidd had a monster game with 21 points, 4 rebounds, 11 assists and 3 steals.  Vince Carter had a solid game with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists.  Richard Jefferson also had a decent game with 18 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists.

The Nets fell to 11-16 on the season with this loss.

Nets suffer giant blow as starting center will miss remainder of season

Blogged under Front Page, Injuries by Nothing but Net on Saturday 23 December 2006 at 2:37 pm

Starting center Nenad Krstic will miss the remainder of the season for the Nets after tearing his left ACL in last night’s game with the Los Angeles Lakers.  Krstic had really been playing well this season as he was averaging 16.4 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game this season.  Krstic also was hitting 52.6% of his shots from the floor which is outstanding.  Look for Mikki Moore to attempt to replace him.
