Cleveland Cavaliers 102, New Jersey Nets 92

Blogged under The NBA Playoffs, Bloglockers, Game Recaps, Front Page by alleyoop on Wednesday 9 May 2007 at 12:34 pm

The Nets played pretty good basketball for three quarters, but then the Cavaliers thumped them 28-19 in the 4th quarter to seal the Nets fate.  The Nets shot an outstanding 52.3% from the floor but they were outrebounded 49-32 by the Cavs and that’s the biggest reason for the loss last night.  Vince Carter didn’t shoot well (10 for 26) but he still finished with 26 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists.  Richard Jefferson had a decent game on offense (22 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists) but he couldn’t defend LeBron James who lit the Nets up for 36 points.  Jason Kidd had another good game with 17 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists.  Mikki Moore had a decent game with 15 points and 3 rebounds, but the Nets need him to get busy on the boards.  The Nets are now down 2-0 as the series shifts to New Jersey.

Nets need to get rid of Collins if they are to have a chance.
He is a terrible all round player who is really screwing things up for the nets. For some reason people think he is a good defender, nothing could be further from the truth. Whoever he is marking dominates him, and he cannot box out for boards. It is so sad that a point guard leads the team in rebounding, when they have 2 7 foot players… Collins must go

The Nets would be better off if they just let Boone start. At least he would try to mix it up with the big guys on the Cavs.
