The Nets have signed F/C Jamaal Magloire as a free agent.  He immediately will be the favorite to replace Mikki Moore in the starting lineup this season.  He played in 81 games (23 starts) for the Blazers last season and he averaged 21.0 minutes, 6.5 points, 6.1 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game.  Magloire made 50.4% of his shots from the floor and only 54.1% of his free throws.

Over his NBA career Magloire has played in 506 games (299 starts) and he has averaged 25.2 minutes, 9.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 0.7 assists and 1.0 block per game.  He has made 48.2% of his shots from the floor and 66.3% from the free throw line.  Magloire is a good defensive player and rebounder who has been an All-Star center in the past.  He will help out the Nets big-time.

The New Jersey Nets waive Hassan Adams

The Nets have waived Hassan Adams despite the fact that he played pretty decent as a reserve for the Nets as a rookie.  Adams played in 61 games (8 starts) for the Nets last season and he averaged 8.1 minutes, 2.9 points, 1.3 assists and 0.2 assists per game.  He shot an amazing 55.6% from the floor but only 66.7% from the free throw line.  Adams should have no problem finding a new job for next season.

The Nets have decided to cut their ties with Cliff Robinson after three seasons.  Robinson played in 50 games (1 start) last season and he averaged 19.1 minutes, 4.1 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game.  He shot 37.2% from the floor, 37.9% from three point range and 44.4% from the free throw line.  Robinson started to look his age on the court and the Nets felt the need to give his minutes to younger players.

The New Jersey Nets re-sign Vince Carter

Vince Carter has decided to come back to the Nets as they re-signed him to a 4 year-$61.8 million dollar contract.  This was a smart move by the Nets as the Eastern Conference is ripe for the picking.  With Nenad Krstic, rookie power forward Sean Williams and Josh Boone all expected to be healthy….the interior of the offense and defense will be much better in 2007-08 for the Nets and that was their big weakness last season.
