The New Jersey Nets sign guard Robert Hite
The Nets have rewarded Robert Hite for his good play on the Summer League team by giving him a 1-year contract. It will be interesting to see if Hite can play better than he did as an undrafted rookie for the Miami Heat last season. He played in 12 games (0) starts for the Heat and he averaged 11.3 minutes, 4.3 points, 1.3 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game. However, he did not shoot well and that likely cost him his roster spot. He only hit 31.7% of his shots from the floor, 21.7% from three point range and 66.7% from the free throw line as a rookie. Those numbers must improve this season if Hite wants to continue playing basketball for a living.
