Richard Jefferson has been the best player on the Nets by far this season as he’s playing the best ball of his career right now. Jefferson has played in 15 games so far this season and he has averaged 39.1 minutes, 25.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.1 steals per game. If Jefferson keeps up this pace the Nets are going to have a great season.

The New Jersey Nets will be without Vince Carter for the next three weeks

The Nets will be without Vince Carter for the next three weeks due to a Grade 1 ankle sprain. Carter has played in 6 games this season and he has averaged 36.2 minutes, 17.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1.0 steal and 1.0 block per game this season. Antoine Wright will replace him in the starting lineup and that will be a huge dropoff in production for the Nets.

Darrell Armstrong will miss the next 2-4 weeks for the New Jersey Nets

Darrell Armstrong will miss the next 2-4 weeks with a contusion of his right knee. He has played in 8 games this season for the Nets and he has averaged 14.3 minutes, 3.4 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. The Nets will miss his energy off of the bench while he’s out.

The Nets never had a shot in this game as they only hit 33.3% of their shots from the floor and 53.1% of their shots from the free throw line. Richard Jefferson had a off night shooting (7 of 19) from the floor but he still led the Nets with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Jason Kidd had a solid game with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Rookie Sean Williams had his best game of his young NBA career with 14 points and 7 rebounds in 29 minutes off the bench. The Nets are now 4-4 on the season.

The Nets really missed Vince Carter in this game as the offense suffered without him. Richard Jefferson continued his hot offensive play with 32 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. Jason Kidd had a solid job of running the offense with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists. Antoine Wright (who replaced Vince Carter in the starting lineup) was only 4 for 14 shooting the ball and he finished with 12 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. The Nets are now 4-3 on the season.
