The New Jersey Nets acquire Stromile Swift from the Grizzlies
The Nets have acquired power forward Stromile Swift from the Grizzlies for center Jason Collins. Swift played in 35 games (4 starts) this season for the Grizzlies and he was averaging 15.7 minutes, 6.8 points, 3.7 rebounds, 0.6 assists and 1.0 block per game. Swift has now played in 507 games (97 starts) in his NBA career to date and he is averaging 20.4 minutes, 8.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, 0.5 assists and 1.3 blocks per game. Swift is a much better player than Jason Collins is so this was a good trade for the Nets. Collins played in 43 games (23 starts) this season for the Nets and he was averaging 15.9 minutes, 1.4 points, 2.1 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game. Collins finished his career with the Nets having played in 510 games (404 starts) and he averaged 24.5 minutes, 4.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game.
