The New Jersey Nets had a trio of young players really step up in the pre-season
The New Jersey Nets expected big things out of Courtney Lee and Brook Lopez. But the star of the pre-season for the Nets was second year guard Chris Douglas-Roberts. He started all 7 games that he played in and he averaged 33.9 minutes, 18.0 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.4 steals per game. Douglas-Roberts will definately get more playing time than he did last season. Courtney Lee is in line to start at Vince Carter’s old shooting guard spot. He played in 5 games (4 starts) in the pre-season and he averaged 34.2 minutes, 16.2 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game. Lee also shot well hitting 52.8% from the floor in the pre-season. 2nd year center Brook Lopez was outstanding as expected in the pre-season for the Nets. He started all 7 games and he averaged 29.1 minutes, 15.6 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 3.0 blocked shots per game. Expect big things out of Lopez this season.
