The New Jersey Nets have fired head coach Lawrence Frank. Frank led the Nets to a 0-16 record this season. He coached seven years for the Nets compiling a 225-241 record (48.3%) and he was 18-20 in the playoffs. Tom Barrise will coach the Nets tonight against the Lakers in L.A. as they will be trying to avoid tying the 1988-89 Miami Heat and the 1999 Los Angeles Clippers for the most consecutive losses to open a season with 17. The Nets will likely make a decision early next week as to whether Barrise will keep the job or if they will hire someone to replace him. This season is quite a mess for the Nets and Frank was lucky to get out of town.
