New Jersey Nets 89, Cleveland Cavaliers 99

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Game Recaps, Big Nets News by Andrew on Wednesday 16 December 2009 at 1:16 am

The New Jersey Nets (2-23) played the Cleveland Cavaliers (18-7) tough, but LeBron James was too much for them to handle.  With the Nets closing in on the Cavs in the third quarter, James single handedly took over the game and helped the Cavs build a 9-point lead going into the 4th quarter.  The Nets did a good job of taking care of the ball (only 8 TO’s), but they shot only 39% from the field while the Cavs hit 58% of their shots and outrebounded the Nets 41-36.  Devin Harris led the Nets with 22 points and 3 assists before getting ejected late in the game for a hard flagrant foul on the Cavs’ Jamario Moon.  Brook Lopez had 22 points and 15 rebounds, but he only scored 2 points in the second half.  The Nets missed Chris Douglas-Roberts and his scoring (16.2 ppg), as he missed his second straight game with a sprained knee.  The Cavs were too much for the Nets to stick with all game though, as LeBron had 23 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists.  They also had two big forces inside with Shaq and Zydrunas Illgauskas combining for 32, 10 rebounds, and 6 blocks.  The Nets are now 1-15 on the road.
