The New Jersey Nets sign Travis Outlaw
The Nets have signed 25-year old small forward Travis Outlaw to a 5-year, $35 million dollar deal. He will be the Nets’ starting small forward barring a miracle signing of LeBron James later tonight. Outlaw played in 34 games (6 starts) for the Clippers & Blazers last season and he averaged 21.5 minutes, 9.1 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game. He has now played in 400 games (32 starts) in his NBA career and he is averaging 21.6 minutes, 9.5 points, 3.4 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game. Outlaw is a 36.3% shooter from three point range in his career so he can put the ball in the basket. Outlaw has been biding his time playing off the bench waiting for his chance to show what he could do with big minutes and the Nets will give him that chance.
