The Nets gave in everything they had last night in Atlanta, but they still fell short. Deron Williams (23 points, 2 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals and 1 blocked shot) and Marshon Brooks (21 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 blocked shot in 29 minutes) led the way for the Nets last night. Mehmet Okur also had a solid game with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists last night. Kris Humphries (10 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists) and Sundiata Gaines (10 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals) also pitched in for the Nets in this game. The Nets are now 1-3 on the year.

Marshon Brooks is stepping up for the New Jersey Nets

22-year old rookie shooting guard Marshon Brooks has really been stepping up for the Nets so far this year. As as team the Nets are only averaging 79.3 points per game, so they are looking for anyone they can to spark the offense. Brooks has played in 3 games (0 starts) for the Nets so far this year and he is averaging 19.0 minutes, 13.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game. If Brooks keeps playing like he is right now, he will likely pass up Anthony Morrow and Sundiata Gaines on the depth chart in no time.

The Nets only shot 37.7% from the floor and it killed them tonight. Marshon Brooks led the way for the Nets once again with 17 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal in 20 minutes on the floor. Deron Williams only shot 2 of 12 from the floor, but he still finished up with 10 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals and 1 blocked shot. Mehmet Okur (9 points, 6 rebounds and 1 blocked shot), Kris Humphries (9 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 blocked shot) and DeShawn Stevenson (9 points, 2 rebounds and 1 assist) also pitched in for the Nets tonight. The Nets are now 1-2 on the year.

The Nets only shot 31% from the floor and they were outrebounded 51-36 by the Hawks tonight, and that’s just not gonna get it done. Rookie shooting guard Marshon Brooks led the way for the Nets with 17 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot off the bench. Kris Humphries pitched in with 11 points, 6 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot tonight. Deron Williams had a night to forget as he only shot 3 of 11 from the floor and he turned the ball over six times. He finished up with 10 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist. The Nets are now 1-1 on the year.

New Jersey Nets 90, Washington Wizards 84

The New Jersey Nets came from way back to win tonight. They outscored the Wizards 53-39 in the second half to come all the way back. The Nets also hit the boards, outrebounding the Wizards 58-39! Deron Williams (23 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 1 steal) and Kris Humphries (21 points, 16 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal) led the way for the Nets tonight in Washington. Anthony Morrow (16 points and 1 rebound), Johan Petro (11 points, 5 rebounds and 1 block) and Damion James (6 points, 14 rebounds and 1 blocked shot) also pitched in for the Nets tonight. The Nets are now 1-0 on the season.
