The Nets have re-signed 26-year old power forward Kris Humphries to a 1-year, $8 million dollar deal. Humphries played in 74 games (44 starts) for the Nets last year and he averaged 27.9 minutes, 10.0 points, 10.4 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.1 blocked shots per game. He has now played in 431 games (52 starts) in his NBA career so far and he is averaging 15.4 minutes, 5.6 points, 4.7 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game. Humphries is a true late bloomer and he could have a huge season for the Nets in 2011-12.

The Nets have waived 27-year old small forward Travis Outlaw via the amnesty clause. Outlaw played in 82 games (55 starts) for the Nets last year and he averaged 28.8 minutes, 9.2 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game. He has now played in 482 games (87 starts) in his NBA career so far and he is averaging 22.9 minutes, 9.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game. The Nets figured that they didn’t need Outlaw around anymore after signing Shawne Williams earlier today.

The Nets have signed 34-year old SG/SF Ime Udoka. Udoka played in 20 games (0 starts) for the Spurs last year and he averaged 6.5 minutes, 0.7 points, 1.0 rebound and 0.7 assists per game. He has now played in 316 games (80 starts) in his NBA career and he is averaging 18.1 minutes, 5.2 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game. Udoka should be able to help the Nets off the bench this year.

UPDATE: (12/23/2011) - The Nets have waived Ime Udoka.

The Nets have signed 25-year old small forward Shawne Williams to a 2-year, $6.1 million dollar deal. Williams played in 64 games (11 starts) for the Knicks last year and he averaged 20.7 minutes, 7.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game. He also shot 40.1% from the floor from three point range last year for the Knicks. Williams has now played in 190 games (17 starts) in his first four years in the NBA and he is averaging 15.9 minutes, 5.9 points, 2.9 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game. This was a solid signing as Williams should be able to help out the Nets’ second unit in 2011-12.

The Nets have signed 28-year old power forward Shelden Williams. Williams played in 59 games (38 starts) for the Nuggets & Knicks last year and he averaged 15.4 minutes, 4.5 points, 4.6 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game. He has now played in 303 games (69 starts) in his NBA career so far and he is averaging 14.2 minutes, 4.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game. Williams should be able to give the Nets some solid minutes off the bench in 2011-12.
