24-year old backup point guard Jordan Farmar is stepping up for the Nets in April. He has played in 4 games for the Nets so far this month and he is averaging 23.0 minutes, 12.5 points, 1.0 rebound, 4.3 assists and 1.3 steals per game. Farmar is also shooting welll from long range as he is hitting 45.5% (10 of 22) shots from three point range so far this month. Farmar has now played in 69 games (14 starts) so far this year for the Nets and he is averaging 24.2 minutes, 9.4 points, 2.3 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game on 39.1% shooting from the floor. With Deron Williams still having issues with his wrist and possibly getting shut down for the rest of the year, look for Farmar to get extended minutes in the Nets’ last few games.

Anthony Morrow is heating up for the New Jersey Nets

The Nets missed 25-year old shooting guard Anthony Morrow when he was out of action. He’s trying to make up for lost time as he has been inserted back into the starting lineup. Morrow has played in 4 games so far in February and he is averaging 34.8 minutes, 14.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. Morrow has shot 50% from the floor and 47.4% from three point range so far this month as his shot appears all the way back. Morrow has played in 36 games (27 starts) overall this year for the Nets and he is averaging 31.9 minutes, 13.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game. He is shooting 48% from the floor, 43.9% from three point range and 90.2% from the free throw line so far this year. If anything, the Nets would probably benefit offensively if Morrow shot the ball a few more times per game.

Sasha Vujacic is off to a good start for the New Jersey Nets

Head Coach Avery Johnson didn’t waste much time getting 26-year old shooting guard Sasha Vujacic into action after he came over from the Lakers in a recent deal. Vujacic has played in 5 games (0 starts) for the Nets so far this year and he is averaging 26.2 minutes, 9.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.4 steals per game. Look for Vujacic to keep gettting big minutes as long as he is producing and he has to be happy with that after being nailed to the bench in L.A.

Jordan Farmar is stepping up for the New Jersey Nets

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Steppin Up, Front Page by alleyoop on Saturday 4 December 2010 at 6:39 pm

Ever since Devin Harris got dinged up, Jordan Farmar has been on fire. In his last 3 games (2 starts), the 24-year old Farmar is averaging 39.7 minutes, 20.3 points, 3.0 rebounds and 7.7 assists per game. His overall numbers still don’t look so hot though. Farmar has played in 20 games (2 starts) for the Nets so far this year and he is averaging 25.8 minutes, 9.9 points, 2.3 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.0 steal per game. He is only shooting 36.9% from the floor and 32.9% from three point range so far this year and that just won’t get it done. The Nets hope that Farmar’s success of late will continue when Devin Harris gets healthy.

Kris Humphries has taken over as the starting power forward for the New Jersey Nets

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Steppin Up, Front Page by alleyoop on Tuesday 23 November 2010 at 2:59 pm

25-year old Kris Humphries has taken over as the Nets’ starting power forward due to his fine play. Troy Murphy and Derrick Favors both are thought of very highly but Humphries is on a roll right now. In his six starts this season, Humphries is averaging 29.8 minutes, 11.0 points, 11.7 rebounds, 1.0 assist and 1.5 blocked shots per game. He has now played in 13 games (6 starts) this year for the Nets and he is averaging 21.5 minutes, 7.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, 0.6 assists and 1.0 blocked shot per game. It will be interesting to see if the 25-year old Humphries can hold off Favors & Murphy for the starting power forward job.
